Clan Sw)arM Rules and Guidelines
All members,
please read and follow the rules and guidelines of Clan
Sw)arM. Failure to comply with any of the above rules
may result in demotion of rank, expulsion from clan,
or any other disciplinary action deemed appropriate
by ranking officials.
Clan Channel
The clan channel will first and foremost serve full members of the Sw)arM. This means that members with clan tags will always be welcome, provided they follow the Member's Conduct Oath outlined below. Full members will be safelisted in case the channel is locked down (ie. hackers, floods, etc.).
All other visitors to the channel are welcome to stay in the clan channel provided that they are not ruded or unruly. However, non-tagged members/visitors may be banned from the clan channel at any time and without warning. Channel operators need not provide a reason for banning non-tagged members/visitors.
Channel operations will be handled by senior members of the clan, and these operators shall be designated by the Clan Leaders. And as a final note, full members receive priority for gaining access to the clan channel.
Clan Sw)arM will convene in the following channels when special circumstances arise:
- Peace Time (no clan war, floods, etc.): Op eSe)
- War Time (clan war in progress): Op eSe)
- Clan Tournaments: Op eSe) and/or Op ISI
- Floods, Hacks, etc.: Op eSe) and/or Op ISI
Please note that the official clan channel is Op eSe) at USEast.
Clan Tags
As a full member of the Sw)arM, one must use the following tags:
- ISI.yourname - Clan Tag
- eSe)yourname( - Money Squad Member Tag
- eS)yourname( - Non-money Squad Member Tag
Only select members that display exceptional skill and teamwork will be allowed to use the Squad Tags. You must be invited to a squad by one of the squad leaders of money/non-money maps before you are given permission to use Squad Tags. Note that the Money Squad Tag represents both the FPM and ZC squads. For more details on Squads, please check out the Squadron page.
Recruitment Guidelines
All Clan Recruiters must follow the following criteria for recruiting new members:
- New member must have had more than 100 wins on his/her previous alias.
- New member must be designated into one of the squadrons, depending on what map/game he/she plays.
- New member must be told to sign up on the Clan Forums.
- New member must only be given a rank of Recruit.
- New member shall only be promoted after being in clan for 10 days or longer / with permission from one of the Clan Leaders.
- Clan Recruiters must notify one of the Clan Leaders of the new member's name, as well as his/her previous alias, and shall do so by sending an email to clan.swarm@gmail.com
.
- Only Clan Recruiters are allowed to recruit new members.
- If other clan members (who are not Clan Recruiters) wish to recruit a new person into the clan, he/she must notify a Clan Recruiter. This new person must be tested by a Clan Recruiter before he/she can be recruited.
- Smurf names (non ISI aliases) will be allowed for normal members. However, members that elect to game with their smurf names must indicate in their profiles their ISI.name and Op ISI as their location.
- Members using smurf names have no rank, and are not safelisted in the channel. They shall not have any channel privileges and may be kicked/banned at any time. In addition, smurf name members have no say in clan matters and must obey all commands given by ISI members when they are in the clan channel.
Member's Conduct Oath
All members,
please make note of the following:
- Do know the rules.
- Do only have one ISI account.
- Do only have membership in one clan.
- Do have fun and chill.
- Do respect ranking members and clan elders.
- Do respect your fellow clan members.
- Do remain active and recruit new clan members.
- Do visit the web site and post in the forum at least
once a week.
- Do be polite when a visitor/new member comes to
the clan channel.
- Do not hack or cheat.
- Do not BS your fellow clan members.
- Do not pick fights unless you have been provoked.
- Do not be racist or say racist words/remarks.
- Do not forget to look at the first rule.
Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result
in demotion of rank, expulsion from clan, or any other
disciplinary action deemed appropriate by ranking officials.
Squadron Leader's Oath
Squadron
Leaders must be an Officer or higher and
is appointed by a Vice President or higher. Squad Leaders
must adhere to these guidelines in addition to the Member's
Conduct Oath:
- Keep Squad active at whatever cost.
- Shall recruit new members into their Squad.
- Maintain Squad Websites (if applicable).
- Add calendar events to the forum regarding your
specific Squad.
- Notify Squad Members to log on the web site.
- Attend all Squad Leader meetings.
- Schedule tournaments/practices/duels/etc. in coordination
with Tournament Staff.
- Post website news regarding specific squadroninformation.
- Delegate certain responsibility to other Squadron
Members.
- Attend all Meetings.
- Keep specific Squadron Forum clean and orderly.
- Notify Leaders and Commanders of current Squadron
activity.
- Remain active in the Clan Sw)arM Forum.
Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result
in disciplinary action being taken by ranking officials.
General's Oath
Generals
must be an Officer and is formally appointed
by a Commander or higher. Generals must either earn
the number of wins stated next to the ranks, or they
must have made outstanding contributions to the clan.
Generals must adhere to these guidelines in addition
to the Member's Conduct Oath:
- Keep clan active at whatever cost.
- Shall recruit new members into the clan.
- Add calendar events to the forum.
- Help schedule tournaments/practices/duels/etc. in
coordination with Tournament Staff.
- Post website news regarding the clan.
- Must have an ISI MSN Screen Name
- Must use ISI Screen Name on BNET
- Attend all Meetings.
- Notify Leaders and Commanders of current clan activity.
- Remain active in the Clan Sw)arM Forum.
Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result
in disciplinary action being taken by ranking officials.
The Oath of the Office (Clan Leader's Oath)
All Clan
Leaders (Vice President and President) must have
a rank of Commander. The position of Vice President
is appointed by the President. Position of President
is passed on by the outgoing President. Clan Leaders
must adhere to these guidelines in addition to the Member's
Conduct Oath:
- Maintain a stable status in the clan at whatever
cost.
- Attend all Clan Leader meetings.
- Award/Revoke appropriate medals.
- Promote/Demote members as necessary.
- Remind Members to login on clan web site daily.
- Host Monthly Member Meetings.
- Answer any questions that Members may have.
- Add/Moderate Squads for Members.
- Post Calendar Events for Clan-related Events
- Maintain the Recruiters List in coordination with
Division Leaders.
- Post news and announcments to keep members informed.
- Must have an ISI MSN Screen Name.
- Must use ISI Screen Name on BNET.
- Attend all Meetings.
- Assist Squadron Leaders in any way needed.
- Remain active in the Clan Sw)arM Forum.
Clan Elders
Clan Sw)arM
appreciates all the contributions made by all the members
of the clan. We also understand that life will sometimes
get in the way of clan membership, whether it be school,
work, new boy/girlfriend, etc. Distinguished members
of the clan who have made many important contributions
to the clan will be give the option to retire.
The permission to retire will only be granted by one
of the Clan Leaders. By retiring, the clan member will
no longer be ranked, but will be given the status of
Clan Elder. This designation will be given the
utmost respect, on par with Commanders. Clan Elders
are welcome to attend any of the clan meetings. Although
Clan Elders have no actual say in clan matters, they
may provide suggestions and advice to current Clan Leaders.
When Clan Elders are present in channel, all other members
must greet them as Sir/Madam. Should a Clan Elder wish
to be reinstated with a rank, he/she will be given a
rank of Commander. A Clan Elder shall remain retired
for a minimum of three months before he/she will be
reinstated.
Forum Rules
All members,
please review the Forum Rules and Policies before you
start posting. Failure to comply with any of the above
rules may result in demotion of rank, expulsion from
clan, or any other disciplinary action deemed appropriate
by ranking officials. Please note the following guidelines.
- Respect the netiquette. Lurk and get to know the
forum before you post.
- Keep the focus and stay on topic. Questions outside
the scope of a certain forum will either be moved,
locked or simply be deleted.
- No cross posting. Post your message once, to the
appropriate forum and nowhere else or it will be locked
or deleted without warning.
- Do NOT post just to increase your number of posts.
If you have nothing to say on a certain matter, then
don't post. The number of posts on this board has
no direct relation to the experience of a member.
- Five minutes after your initial post do NOT reply
to your own post writing something silly like: "Why
is nobody helping me? I'm sure you know the answer".
Once somebody replies to your thread but does not
give you exactly the answer you've been expecting,
do NOT insult them. Try to clarify your question;
we cannot read minds and we are trying to help only
because we are all nice people.
- Do NOT spam or flame. Also, we do NOT tolerate
blatant advertising.
- Instructions given by the Moderation Team are to
be followed.
- To test or try out something, do it in the Test
forum.
- We take the "Be Polite" rule very seriously! We
do NOT tolerate any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally
unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning.
- Members of the clan, please register using your
BNET name (ie. ISI.namehere).
Forum Promotion Policy
By posting
regularly, you will be able to get gain a maximum of
8 ranks. When you reach a certain number of posts, you
get promoted up 1 rank. Here are the number of posts
you must have in order to get promoted:
- Promotion 1 - 10 Posts
- Promotion 2 - 25 posts
- Promotion 3 - 50 posts
- Promotion 4 - 100 posts
- Promotion 5 - 150 posts
- Promotion 6 - 250 posts
- Promotion 7 - 350 posts
- Promotion 8 - 500 posts
When you reach one of the specified number of posts,
you will need to post it under the "Forum Promotions"
forum and we will promote you at the next monthly meeting.
Do NOT private message or harass a moderator
for your promotion; if you do, you will be demoted.
